Goodbye Yeti

Featured Replies

I have now had my trusty Yeti 2.0 DSG Elegance for a little over 5 years but covered only 35k miles. On the car's birthday in May, I ordered its replacement, a new VW Tiguan SEL. I was very impressed with the Tiguan during a longish test drive but of particular interest to me is the bigger boot. Although the Yeti has been an excellent car in almost every way, I struggle to get more than a couple of medium suitcases into the boot with all seats in place. Against that though, the fact that the rear seats fold and tumble is a great bonus that I will miss with the Tiguan. Over all, the advanced driver assistance and safety features on the Tiguan should make a significant difference on my journeys to and from my second home here in France. The new car should be waiting when I get back to the UK in September.

So, it's goodbye and good luck to all on Briskoda. I have enjoyed my membership and received much useful knowledge and advice about the Yeti.

Good luck with the Tiguan.

If you're passing through the Loire valley / Vienne area and see a quartz grey Yeti give us a wave!

I'd be interested in a Tiguan update when it arrives as that's on my next car list. Did you go for the 150 or 190?

Hi john999boy,

I've ordered the 150; with 0 to 65 at 9.3 seconds it's got enough performance for me. I'll post an update when I take delivery. It seemed to me,however, that the Tiguan ticks all the boxes with an impressive array of useful electronics: lane assistance, adaptive cruise control, the possibility to virtually drive itself in traffic jams, adaptive (self-dipping) LED headlights and so on. The SEL model is extremely well specified. I looked at the R model but don't need, or want, 20" wheels or a black interior, (that put me off the Audi Q3/5) and restricted range of exterior finish. Now looking forward to the first drive. Oh, and the digital dash is very impressive if a bit gimmicky.
