bumper protector

Featured Replies

I am about to help my son move house, so have invested in the black plastic bumper protector.

Really easy to fit and looks better than I expected.

That does indeed look nice and tidy.

Is it the skoda part, or aftermarket?

I've been thinking of getting one of those, as I DJ part time and have already got a scratch from lifting my kit in and out. For the carbon one, it's about £68 delivered as far as I can see

Looking at the precision of the fit, i'd say that is a genuine Skoda part.

Aftermarket parts sometimes get really close, but no cigar......

It looks good either way

Do you just snap it on or does it need some more handywork? When I get my sportline I will most likely get one of those since otherwise our puppy will damage the bumper. There is a carbon version also? That might be nice, is there a picture somewhere to be found?

The bumper protectors I've fitted have always been stuck down with 3M adhesive strips.

The gap between the bottom lip of the tailgate and the protector is usually tiny, the adhesive strips prevent any movement which could cause the tailgate to scrape it.

Try that the above

edit: the above link for estate. just go back to skoda superb III accesories and it will shows you the hatch version.

or just look for the part number and google it and you may find it from other shops.

Unfortunately that doesn't look like its the the Skoda part number for the Rear Bumper Protector - Superb 3 Hatch (Ref. Code: ZGB3V2071102) if you google it you onlt get hits for "The Skoda Shop"

I see, looks like it is release only by skoda shop

There is a thinner clear sheet of plastic one which was an extra I asked to be fitted by the dealer, but they messed it up as they left loads of bubbles in it, so I reckon it must be sticky back plastic.

This one has a sticky bad running down the short sides and a long pad along the side furthest away from the door.

I washed all the muck off the bumper area with water and then with a foam cleaner that cleans dirt and grease, rubbed everything over with paper towels until squeaky clean and dry.

I peeled off the short edges and a little of the long edge, tilted it to about 45 degrees, slipped it under the rubber seal of the hatchdoor, positioned it left/right until the moulded turn-ups fitted the curve perfectly, stuck the sides down and then peeled off the remaining long side tape.

Then lots of pressure using a towel to make sure it all stuck.

I even impressed myself.

Coding on the plastic package is
