Still getting to grips with all the new kit, but wondered if it was possible to have a picture on the screen instead of the menus and such? like it times out to a picture after a selection or when the unit is off it displays a picture maybe?

 

Any ideas? 

I looked at adding a screensaver or wallpaper background but cant be done. all you can do is insert an SD card with images on and scroll through them, there is no way of adding an image via the menu.

 

whether it can be done via VCDS I don't know

Most likely cannot be done because the picture is embedded in the unit firmware, so you would need to get hold of the relevant firmware, disassemble it, hack the picture you want and reflash the unit...

 

...in short: no

 

Cheap Chinese units can do it because they are WinCE or Android based.
