Roof box problem

So I fitted the genuine Skoda bars & Thule 591 cycle rack. Very pleased with quality & ease of assembly but I have a problem which I am struggling to resolve. I want to keep the rack on but this gives me only about 60cm of width remaining which is not much. I thought I had cracked it when I spotted the Thule Ranger 500 soft bag which would have been perfect at 50cm width but its 190cm in length where the maximum length I can take is about 160cm. Quite frankly I think I am buggered and will have to leave the bike at home. Anybody had a similar problem & resolved it ?
