I suddenly had a water ingress problem to both front footwells.  I have cleaned out gutters in front of windscreen but not sure that was the issue.  I have the rain cover (see photo 1) but am really surprised that you can see straight into the inlet fan entry – there’s no gauze or filter on this 8” x 4” hole in the bilkhead.  Should there be???  Skoda Fabia hatch II  (2009)

Not normally a gauze over the hole, just the cover over the top.
