Throttle/ accelerator/ clutch pull off problems + rear mud flaps + armrest + xenon:

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any problems with irratic behaviour of the accelerator pedal when pulling away only? My vRS sometimes seems to try to stall. It has a Jabba remap but it did this prior to the remap, Jabba said to leave the ignition on for 3 mins to reset the throttle position sensor but this has not helped.

With normal driving after pulling away everything seems perfect.

I fear the problem could be my throttle sensor or worse still my clutch or flywheel. The other day I tried to reverse my front wheels up a step and I had to give it loads of revs to get the car up, the clutch begun to smell slightly, is the standerd clutch on these cars underated? My car has only done 16,000 miles however it was standing for about 6 months, would this have caused flywheel rust or something?

I have also noticed that the mud guards on the forward half of both rear arches have snapped off, is this common?

I am also looking for a genunine black leather vRS armrest with install kit and some original Xenon headlamps. Anyone selling?

To reset the throttle sensor you need to leave the drivers door open switch ignition for 30sec then switch off close door and off ya go, but it maybe the coollent tempture sensor have read about that same fault on here and some people found that changing that worked.

As for the clutch yes they are paths, you do have to be carefull when using reverse dont know why they geared it so high!

One of my mud guards is broken so i would say it's common!

Thanks Smithy!

I will try to reset the throttle sensor like you said on the way home tonight. Who told you this method? Jabba don't know everything it seems.

Also what would the coollent tempture sensor have to do with the poor pull off? This is very wierd. Is this it an easy job to replace?

Think the mudguards get damaged when driving over those hump shaped sleeping police men, not sure though. The vRS is very low it seems, my Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo never used to rub over bumps?

I will be carfull using my reverse gear in future too, thanks for the tips!

Help, power has gone?:

I tried this to reset the throttle...

"leave the drivers door open switch ignition for 30sec then switch off close door and off ya go"

Now my car feels alot less powerfull, could this have reset the jabba remap?

Advice appreciated.

I'm not sure but would think that if the coollent sensor is not working rite it may over fuel the engine when taking off.

No it would not reset the map thats for sure maybe you have a faulty maf you be best off calling into jabba if your not to far away.

The thing is that my throttle/ clutch sync seems much better now.

The car feels like it did before it was chipped?

It dives very well but with alot less oomph.

Before the power came on strong at about 2000+revs now it feels more top end with less torque? Could have the throttle switch been that far out?

Where did you hear about how do reset the throttle? I am not sure about maf or sensor as there are no warning lights.

Thanks

I am also looking for a genunine black leather vRS armrest with install kit
