Anyone changed the speakers?

Featured Replies

Hi! I think the sound in my yeti is awful, my gf also think it sounds way to harsh

Anyone upgraded the speakers to aftermarket and are happy with it? And if so which speakers did you buy, and did you i need an extra amp?

I have the Amundsen stereo but not sound system upgrade

You might get quicker replies from the ICE section.

How many speakers do you have in your Yeti, 4 or 8?

What Yeti have you got? All but the base model in the UK have 8, 12 is an option so safe to say you don't have that. If you have 8 you will have a speaker in the lower part of your door and an extra tweeter. Stick your ear by the door handle on your front door and if you hear music out of the little grille you probably have 8.

Consensus is that the 8 speaker system isn't bad for a standard factory fit but the 4 speaker system is a bit weedy. I upgraded the speakers on a mini a few years ago and found the Focal made excellent speakers that made a significant improvement that didn't need amplifying.

As long as you don't just have the four the consensus amongst us music lovers is that the quality of the standard set up is perfectly acceptable.

Have you checked your settings? Too much treble and not enough bass will sound pretty poor.

If you have the Amundsen head unit you almost certainly have 8 speakers.
As said the 8 speaker set-up is pretty good and only an audiophile would tell much difference with an upgraded speaker set-up.
As above if the treble and bass has been set wrong it will sound harsh.

My 2015 has four and the sound is quite reasonable but would love to put in the rest, has anyone added the extra speakers? Did you use aftermarket or the skoda dealer offering ( which i was warned will be $$$$ )

I brought mine with the 12 speakers (was included as part of the "tech pack" option as they call it in Australia). I just wanted the DAB+ and Bi-Xenon headlights, but it came with the upgraded speaker system. And to be honest, I'm glad that I have it. Listening to music in my Yeti is quite an enjoyable part of the journey!

Just to be clear, I know there is a midrange and tweeter in all 4 doors of an 8 speaker system but where are the speakers in a 4 speaker set-up?

Are there midrange and tweeter speakers in the front doors or just midrange speakers in all 4 doors?

From memory I believe that it is just the front section [Driver & Front Passenger sides] that get all the speakers on the 4 speaker setup..........Tony

PS: just checked the latest brochure, and from that; "Skoda Yeti SE & Outdoor SE - additional 4 loudspeakers in the rear" the "S" is quoted as having  "4 Loudspeakers"  Which indicates to me that on the "S", there are no rear speakers at all.
