A quiet day under an Octavia. I have been looking for online help/information and all roads seem to lead here. So hi.

Having had VWs from Beetle, through Polo/Derby, Jetta and Passat I opted for Skodas a few years ago. I now have some experience of Fabia 1.2 6v, Octavia MkII TDI and most recently a MKIII VRS. Mostly happy but need to sort some issues on the TDI.

Hello everyone I decided to update my 2014 Skoda Octavia to a newer age. First changed the MIB1 to MIB2, and then decided to add a rear view camera (there are other projects on the way like MFK1 to MFK2). I want to tell the story so someone else does not make the same mistakes I did. My Skoda never had a camera, so I bought one from a scrapyard, a 3V0827566N without the wiring harness, it scrapped with the body. Hi, I brought a 2012 Skoda Fabia in May 2026 and the air circulation button (i think) when you press it or turn on aircon which automatically turn on it makes an awful banging noise Has anyone had this issue and know what the solution is (other than leaving off) Also the passenger electric window will open on passenger switch but close only on driver (is that common?) cheers

Octy 2 1.4TSI ESTATE CAXA Quite uncertain where to enter this question. The keyfob#1 has started to cause serious problems with the car alarm system. So far keyfob#2 is working with no problem. Car alarm starting randomly and only disconnecting the battery helped. Yesterday the alarm kept sounding/flashing even when the engine was running - undrivable. Is there a home cure whereby I can remap/reset the key fob? My very helpful auto sparks is unable to help

After dropping a wodge on the Outback for a new battery only for the tailgate issues to immediately recur and funnily enough for a internet search to suddenly (wasn't before) flag that there is a persistent and long standing Subaru issue with a parasitic battery drain via the telematics module. Basically the car continually tries to phone home and drains the battery, the tailgate control module is acutely sensitive to voltage meaning that if the car has sat for more than a day (sometime less) th

Hi! I'm in need of some help please. My Octavia estate sat for 8 months unused. The battery went flat (AGM Varta) and doesn't charge. I got the car started with a different battery and then swapped in the dead battery to see if it would start charging. BUT, now the engine was running I needed to move the car a bit and found that the gear stick won't go into reverse gear. It can select 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not reverse. I've ordered up a new AGM battery (due in a couple of days) but this reverse
