fuel tank for fun

Featured Replies

It seems that the fuel tank has gone rusty on my  2000 v reg. Fun.  Will other cars from the Felicia rang fit, or maybe a V.W. Caddy? as I am having difficulty finding one,  a non rusty secondhand one will do, thanks  John.

While, I'm here, where can I get a spare key cut ..........thanks

Are you sure the fuel tank is metallic?

I was told it was leaking, I just assumed that it had gone rusty....are they indeed plastic or whatever?

They are all plastic.

According to my data, Czechs discontinued the manufacture of fuel tanks in August 2014.

Any fuel tank on Felicia 1.3MPi, 1.6i, Pickup on petrol and VW Caddy with petrol engine manufactured in '97-'01 interval should fit.

As a reference, part number is 6U0201021C.

One other thing you could do, as last solution, is to seal any hole using a hydrocarbon resistant resin. Frankly I haven't seen yet a Felicia leaky fuel tank unless intentionally punctured or mishandled.

Hi RicardoM,  Thanks for the info,... it is possible that the tank was damaged on a farm track , but It now sounds like it could be  leaking from the filler connection,  many thanks again...John

Better see with your own eyes what's going on and then decide accordingly. It is not that hard to take out the tank and inspect it, the hoses and the clamps. Fuel leaking spells disaster.

Tanks the same as the cars it's just the filling neck bit that's diffrent I have all three versions hatch estate and fun and they all have same plastic tank breaking the estate...
