Hi all. Recently purchased a set of superskoda interior LED lights. hav managed to open the light fitting, but does anybody have any ideas on how to open the clear perspex lens? Is there some knack to it,or is it simply a case of brute force and ignorance to pop the lense out?

Thanks for that wlange.  I was posting from the phone earlier and was a bit short on content, I should have been a bit clearer on what I meant!  

 

The lights I'm referring to are the front interior lights.  The LED unit sold is a strip of lights (see attached).  From what I can see it needs to be placed inside the housing and stuck in place.  Its too big to fit into the hole that the traditional bulb fits into, and as you can see on the pictures there appears  to be 4 small black plastic pieces holding the silver housing permanently in place.

 

I'm just wondering can the clear perspex cover only be removed?

For 99,9% it's either glued or ultrasonic-welded. I'm afraid there is no safe nor clean way of doing it.

But there is a much simpler solution - take led bulbs in similar form as original. I did that in the trunk (2.88€ for 2 pieces 180lm, single-sided) and results are very good.

There is plenty of such T10 / W5W led lamps in variety of shapes on the popular auction site, aliexpress, etc.

I was going to use those on mine, but ended up opting for some other ones from Aliexpress.

 

They should fit fine, only in the back interior lights though.

I replaced all my interior bulbs including the glove box with some cheapish T10 W5W LEDS from eBay. Think I got 10 for about £6 delivered, all working fine. I had two LED units for the boot from my MK2 that fitted fine.

I didn't have any issues with replacing the two front interior lights? Can't remember exactly how I removed them, but I could check? Unless you are asking about a non VRS?
