Vrs engine help

So I've had my spark plugs changed about 80miles ago a d all was well, yesterday I accelerated slightly and the car hesitated and then the engine management light came on. I stop and turned the car off and back on after a few minutes, I then drove for a few minutes then tried again and the same thing happened. Anyone had this before?

Lots of people have had this.

 

So who changed your plugs, what plugs were put in.

Are they the correct gap and the coils are ok?      If someone that knows their stuff they should be.

So is the Turbo Pipe Sealed OK, the pipes and connections all OK.

This is the common problem after people get plugs changed, several threads all with the same issues.

Those plugs should be fine, they are the Skoda fitment after they changed to these.

As long as the person fitted checked the gap as they arrived, then never knocked a plug putting it in all should be good there.

post #44,  this happens so often even at main dealers.

How old is your car and how many miles, and what were the plugs like that were removed?

You need to get it checked.

 

The Seal on the Big Hard Pipe (turbo intake) can be leaking, and there is another pipe with an 'o' ring.

 

Do not boot it until it is checked.

ie

No boost of Supercharger and Turbo charger under 3,500 rpm,  drive very easy.

 

Do you have super unleaded petrol in, and was anything else done at the garage?

Sometimes after the car sitting running and going no place you get an Engine Management light from 

the plug sooting up, even after new plugs, that is not an issue.

Has your car ever had a Software Update, like at this Service, if it was a Service you had done?

Black soot is OK it is running rich.

If not using oil then that is not an issue.

 

As to the MIs-fire you had.   This is what matters.

 

So it is important that you know what the plugs removed looked like.

 Was one failing causing the misfire. 

Is a coil failing because it was overheating.

 

?

So where was your car into a Skoda Dealership or VW Specialist.

?

Were misfires Logged. 

?

Has a Software Update been done.

?

Do you know how long the last plugs were in?

 

EDIT.

Off for the weekend, hope you get it sorted.

Take it easy,

do not have it go into Limp Mode, or shut down 2 cylinders or turbo before you find out the problem.

Very high. and very common.

 

Not so common when the spark plugs have been in for 80 miles.

But then the issue was there before that new plugs went in and has been un-diagnosed.

 

The tech removing the old plug from cylinder 2 will have seen how it looked.

No action other than the plug changes seems to have happened.

As you know the engines are no longer offered for sale in new vehicles, and when forced Skoda UK have to accept their part as the importer and supplier to the dealers of vehicles with engines with Fundamental Design, Manufacturing and Component choice and quality control issues and their lack of action since 2010 to do anything to assist owners with issues until issues become expensive and engines can be ruined.

 

Main Dealership technicians that will just change plugs and hope the customer goes away and does not bother them is something 

Skoda UK has been happy to go on since 2010 as well.

 

Sad really, but if VW, Skoda, Audi & Seat were more open with customers and Dealerships were taking care of customers then the situation 

could have been dealt with back in 2012 when they were changing the engines and engine management.

Have you had any instances of 2014 on 'All new 3rd Generation Fabia coming in with DSG faults, Clutchpack or other issues?
