vRS Insurance - who is cheapest for under 25's...

Featured Replies

Cant seem to get a good quote with my 24 year old son as a named driver, any suggestions?

Wait until he's older? :)

Group 16 is going to be expensive for a 'high-risk' driver. I'm 28 and this is the first time I've had a reasonable premium for a high group car.

pm me some details, not personal, just area, age, years driving, any accidents or convictions, usual stuff. SWMBO works for an insurance broker.

and il get her to run a quote and il let you know.

i had a subaru legacy quadcam turbo, with a few mods and around 260bhp, when i was 25, cost me

I was 26 with 4 years no claims when I got my VRS and privlage came in with the best price by a long shot. I got prices from under 700.00 to £3k yes £3k with skoda insurance. this year it is sub £600.00

the other thing to do is to quote on line becuase often the insurance companies will give you an extra 5-10% with when you are talking £500+ is not to be missed.

If it's standard, Tesco and Directline always seemed to be good (I insured my Scooby turbo when I was 22 with them). :D They were ok for modified, but if it's been chipped/remapped you might want to look elsewhere.

I'm currently with Chris Knott (as per banner ad on here)...

My son has 6 years full NCB, he has had faster cars than me always, he just wants it for back up really, he will not drive it that much.

To bris_crs_fabia:

My son is 24, 25 in march. He has been driving since three weeks after his 17th birthday (although he bough his first car when he was 16) :) He has full no claims, no points. I have two non fault rear shunts in last 3 years, no points, I am 52. Any ideas on price?

In my experience, insurance prices vary a lot, and a company that is good for one person may not be for another. Unfortunately, there is no substitute for just picking up the phone or going online and getting lots and lots of quotes.

Hi all, new to the forums and soon to be the proud owner of an Octavia vRS!

I have 5 years NCB with no bumps or convictions... 427 quid through Swift Cover. Even less if you're prepared to live with a massive excess. With a quick car you've got to be pretty whiter than white to get a decent quote.

Try putting the wife or other female on the policy, that usually works wonders.

that's cheap.... But modifying and living near an urban jungle doesn't help.
