Wiring existing aux to new head unit?

Featured Replies

Fitted a pioneer head unit to my 'new' Fabia, which for the most part is working fine, but wondering what kind of cable I might need to connect the cars existing AUX port ( next to handbrake ) into the AUX input on the pioneer?

Probably two phono inputs. Have a look what the unit accepts?

Sometimes with aftermarket units you can put an additional input box in. For instance, i've got 4 USB inputs and a 3.5mm input in the glovebox with my Zenec unit. It keeps everything in one place. Might be worth looking into?

How dI'd you put them into the glove box? Any guide links or help would be great!

Whole point was I want to make use of the existing aux input port that's in the car, I don't want to fit a new one!

The new headunit has a standard 3.5mm input jack for AUX, but as far as I can determine, the cars own aux port is connected to the quadlock block that's not used by the standard iso wiring harness converter, so I need some kind of cable to convert this input into a 3.5mm jack for the headunit, but my searching thus far hasn't been very successful in what exactly I need.

Alright. Chill out.

Yes you'd probably need to take the wires out of the connector, cut the pin off the end then to wire your own plug in (whichever thr headunit accepts, RCA?).

Or you could perhaps cut the plug off a wire and solder it to the correct wire.

But without looking at it i couldnt tell you for sure. People usually add additional ones.

Theres a little blank on the right side of the glove box as you look into it. I took that out.. Took the headunit out and fished it across. Wasnt too difficult.

I'll check that out mate. Getting the new NES mini when its out. Thinking of installing it into the car. Thanks for the reply
