a quick update!...

There will now be a collection for Cancer and Leukaemia In Children charity, CLIC. You are not EXPECTED to make a donation, but there will be a couple of members of the local division of CLIC wondering around if you do wish to drop a few coins in their bucket.

There will be a reporter from the local press wondering around taking a few photos and maybe even interviewing a couple of people. Also, I had a meeting with the events liaison officer at Devon & Cornwall Police HQ this morning, and they are 100% happy with how the event is shaping up.

Lastly, there has been interest from the local VW, Seat, Audi, Skoda, and Bentley dealerships and some of them MAY be bringing along one of their latest models for people to have a look at. I haven't had confirmation from all of them but even if only one or two of the dealerships turn up then that'll be great!

Now we just have to hope the weather holds out for us! :D

Ooooh, if SMC Skoda wish to bring down a new Octavia vRS for me to drive, I'd be happy. :D Its still 20 horses under mine, but I'll give it a go.

Oh, and if Bentley wish to bring down a car for me to drive..... :D What about Lamborghini. Thats VAG... sort of. ;) Murcielago please! :P

all of them seemed interested, but Bentley and VW were quite enthusiastic about it!! So hopefully they will both definately be there

The Dealer Principle of the Skoda dealership was in a meeting but I had a chat to one of the sales staff and he seemed to think his boss would be interested so fingers crossed. I'm gonna go down and have a chat with him tomorrow at some point :)

Point out to SMC my car could be used as a "What you could do with a Fabia vRS" basis. This "basis" is very sketchy though. ;)

Looking forward to it. About time something down here was done like this with some good organisation and the involvement of private companies and local authorities to make a good day.

Surely some more Briskodians will want to come down to this now? Its becoming more of a show. :D

Gotta take my hat off to you Dan, you've certainly been busy! This will look good on your CV!

Damn, this is going to be 2 weekends of fun. Santa Pod then a local big VAG meet. :D

thanks mate!! it hasn't been easy, but will be worth it! and yeh it'll be a great thing to put on my CV! :D

dan, as long as you can arrange for the weather to be dry, all will be good.

Still can't believe we only have 2 and a half people down for it though. (sorry Andy, putting you down as a half incase you're working)

yeh that is a shame..

would be really cool to have a big skoda crowd there to show the rest of the VAG crew what its all about!!!

I'm pretty sure Andy will come. ;)

How's your car going at the moment, Andy? Worth running another scan?

Been down today and seen the sales manager at Audi and the Dealer Principle at Skoda and they said they might be able to come along and will let me know.

We also now have a burger van for the afternoon ;)

:woohoo: Ball burger van. I shall bring along some pennies then. :D

Seriously though, is no other Briskodians interested in a small day out in Devonshire. It literally is JUST on the end of the M5 so there's no complicated directions. Motorway all the way from the vast majority of places.

There have got to be more than three members in the whole South West surely?!!! All you've got to do is pop along, have a look, and go again if you don't like the look of us! We're dead friendly though and easy to spot - if you see a plume of smoke it's gonna be either a) a burger van or B) Jason

:bump:

It's THIS sunday chaps.

If I don't get many more people coming I won't bother with the drive out into the Devon countryside. I had a good route all made up in my mind too. :(

No-one else coming? Must be some people within 50/60 miles who can make a little jaunt down for a well organised event?

can't make this meet sorry

but I would really like to get a meet doing the Jurrassic coast

was watching the coast program last night on history channel (i think) you got some lovely coasts down there  make it a long drive along the coast stopping at many beaches :D

i think that the octavias arent coming down cus they have seen how PHAT mine looks and dont want to be shown up and all the fabia vrs arent coming down cus they dont want to be beaten by the mongrel!!

would people be more willing to come if i arranged a Gordano pre meet?

For Gordano convoy, you'd want to be leaving there around 12 for a gentle cruise down to Exeter. I saw we meet at the Services (think they're "MOTO" now) at 1pm. In theory the Seat Enthusiasts meet should be going well by then, which will give some entertainment.

Then we'll cruise on down to the other side of town for the big meet up down at Matford. I've got this odd sense of anticipation about it. :D Think it's gonna be cool.

Weather outlook is dry, but cold. Bring those hats and gloves. :D

Can someone post up the details of this meet........they seem to be spread over most of the posts so I am not sure what is happening when or where :P

If I come down I may be the entire Superb contingent

This Sunday 26th February.

BIG VAG meet down at Exeter starting at 2pm. ElRichy I believe is proposing a 12 noon meeting up at Gordano Services at Bristol. But I would leave an hour at least for the journey to Exeter from there as there's some rubbish 40mph contraflow stuff going on around Gordano for about 10 miles south. :grumpy:

We'll be taking a quick peek around the MOTO services, which is also a good meeting point alone. Then under my local "guidance" we'll wander on down to the Matford Park & Ride which is around 15 minutes drive around Exeter itself.

After that? Who knows? Guess we best find a pub to retreat to and warm up again. :D

Change of plans I most probably will join you all as 12pm goradno services isn't too early

are you really gonna come all the way upto bristol to lead us all back down again Jason?

or have i got the wrong services ???

Nope! :P I'm not that generous. :D

Its Elrichy who was proposing a Gordano pre-meet. And I think you know the services involved - The one just after the Avon bridge southbound on the M5.

thats sorted then!! the plan!!!

12:00 at Gordano service just on the left as you come in you will see my car there but i will be there in plenty of time, but really we wanna leave for 12 cus jason is right about an hour we will be able to do it in! it should be a good meet have heard load of people all over the uk talking about it!!

if u update as and when then i will know who i will need to wait for!!
