Howdy guys

Delighted to say that I'm buying a vRS hatchback this weekend. After years of having to buy estate cars for the mutt I've finally found a hatchback big enough and on the back of a car that I actually want!

Anyway, given that I carry the mutt so often I want to change the standrad parcel shelf to make it dog friendly but without having to remove it altogether each time I put him in.

I want to get the standrad shelf modified such that it maybe hinges in the middle and can be folded back or want to get a retractable type shelf (as in the estate) that can be made to fit the hatchback or something similar.

Does anyone know of somneone who does this sort of thing at all?

sorry... never heard of anything like this... maybe speak to a dealer and see if there is an option for it... other idea would be DIY... piano hinge down the centre of the shelf and cut it in half... bit drastic i know but maybe the only option in the end.

I too have a mutt. When you open the boot pull the parcel shelf out of the plastic mouldings and un hook it from the boot door you can slide the shelf down the back of the seat between where the shelf clips into the side panels by the speakers. Now you can take your shelf everywhere with you and it wont cost you a penny to mod it.
