Can I turn of diversity aerial in VCDS?

Featured Replies

I suspect the connection to our diversity aerial is a bit wonky and causing us some issues in our Fabia.

Can I disable it or tell the Columbus to use one only?

Thanks

I bought a cable which effectively joins both Diversity cables together, this cured my reception problems.

I searched ebay for fakra double, you want two males to one female I presume?

Why not find out what the problem is (a VCDS scan might show a specific fault code) and get it fixed?

Plus you can't turn one off with VCDS; they are designed to work in tandem.

Perhaps elucidating on your specific problem may enable us to give suggestions as to what the problem and possible solutions might be.

It could be a bent pin in the back of the Columbus. Or a loose connection in the plug (at either end). Possibly a corroding antenna base (knowing which band is causing the most problems could narrow that down).

Well I've got poor reception and doesn't find many stations in the radio list, both aerials are on, replaced the base as had badly corroded and checked the aerial connectors.

No bent pins or damage to the Columbus. Came from RustyNuts with pictures of it all working (and no reason not to believe him).

I think the diversity aerial connection is poor as if i tweak it I can improve it. I have ordered an extension cable and single to twin adapter to try and route down further.

VCDS shows no errors.

Fitted a new cable to the car during the week. Used a 1 into 2 fakra convertor to remove the diversity. Working great now !
