Powerflow exhaust fitted to Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

So today I went and had a 2.5inch Powerflow exhaust system fitted at Enigma in Slough by Naz who was great. Real professional and friendly and gave great customer service, and I've only had a quick look underneath but it looks like good quality worksmanship.

I haven't got any pictures or videos yet and I'll try and get some tomorrow and post them.

I was really hoping it would be as quiet as possible (well, as quiet as a custom exhaust system can be anyway) as I just wanted a bit more noise when you press the loud pedal. As I think the vRS makes no noise at all from the back and as its a sporty little hatch, I think it should.

I looked at just having the silencer removed from the stock system but was persuaded from other people's comments and pictures and videos to get the whole thing done.

It does sound great when you do put your foot down and nice little burbles on the up changes, but it's the noise it makes when coming off the line even when pulling off slowly that is going to annoy me. Also, around a certain rev range at low speeds in 2nd/3rd gear it seems to make a lot of noise.

It's a shame because otherwise when cruising in 5th, 6th and 7th it's ok and what I expected/was hoping for, just the lower speeds it seems to really fill the inside of the car.

I've still got my old system but wouldn't go as far as putting that back in (is for sale if anyone's interested) but I may put some sound deadening material in the boot under the carpet and see if that helps at all. If not, I'll try and live with it for a while and if it's still getting on my nerves I may go back and see if a silencer or something can be added. Probably defeats the object of a custom exhaust but guess I've just realised you can't have an exhaust that's loud when you want and also quiet when you want! (I am aware of the system you can buy with an electronic switch in it).

If you are looking for more a new exhaust system I would still recommend the Powerflow dealer in Slough.

So yeah, little bit apprehensive at the moment but I may soon get used to it or get to like it!

Sounds good what have you had done the decat system or cat back no silencers?

Erm.. Definitely not decat, and I think I did specifically say I wanted it quieter if possible so I think it's catback but I'm not actually sure at the moment if it has any silencers or not..

Okay be nice to see some pics when you get round to it

You should have left the front Silencer on, mine is very subtle

When you put the foot down you here it but cruising at 70mph there is no drone which is good

I need to check if it has been left on or not. I did repeatedly say for it to be as quiet as possible and emailed the guy the link to your build thread it might have been saying this is what I want kind of thing!

Couple of links to some videos I took. On the first one, about a minute in it gets to normal tickover speed so it quieten's a little bit.

Unfortunately I didn't get any full length photos of under the car.

But your sound file sounds way loud on tick over compared to mine

^^^ Did you have the resonator removed?

A member on here had this fitted over a year ago.

I didn't think anyone would want it either unless it was the absolute complete full system but didn't cost me anything to bring it back and I thought I could just keep hold of it just in case.

And it sounds loud until just after a minute or so once the revs had fallen to the usual 800rpm tickover speed. Sometimes takes a minute or so to drop from just over 1000rpm to tickover speed.

Weird thing it's actually not bad at all at speeds of 70mph+ as I discovered this morning, so maybe it was just a bit of a shock to the system and I'll get used to it. Just the lower speeds it surprises me sometimes at the noise it makes still though I think.

I love that more 'meatier' noise to the rear, hate to say it but it does slightly **** me off seeing all these Fiesta ST's just rolling by which sound WAY better than mine, really wish the stock system didn't have such a noise barrier on it.

Me too! That's why I wanted a bit more noise from it. Although thinking I shouldn't have gone for a full custom jobby, just had the resonater removed or something. Next step will either be put some dynamatt sound proofing sheets in the doors or have another silencer added into the system. It's actually fine at times and I quite like it and then other times I'm like oh ffs!

Looks like they have removed the back box and centre one. Got any pics of the new exhaust? Can't see much from the pics above but have they put any boxes in at all? If not and it's essentially straight through from the cat back no wonder it's loud! I quite like the noise it makes in those videos tho :-)

What Bilstein kit have you got fitted btw ?

I haven't got any pictures of underneath the car at the moment, the guy said it would take about 3hours so I wondered off into town while it was done. I think I might jack the car up this weekend and get a few pictures.

Yeah as I've said the actual noise it makes isn't too bad, it's just the volume of the noise haha!

Bilstein B12. Got it done earlier this year, had it fitted at AMD in Essex. Great piece of kit!

I'm fairly sure it's the B12 I've got anyway.. This is part of what I said in my first enquiry email to AMD:

"I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia 1.4TSI vRS and I noticed your offer on the free

fitting of the Bilstein suspension kits on your website. I'd like to know

how much the B12 Pro-Kit and B12 Sportline are and what the differences are?

Is it just that one is slightly lower than the other?"

And they replied with:

"There is only a Pro-Kit available for this model. This will lower approx. 20-25mm"

So they didn't correct me and say it's actually a B8 kit but you could be right if the Bilstein website only has the B8 showing. Not sure. Either way, combined with the RARB I've got fitted, the handling is sooo much better than stock. I've emailed them again just to check what Bilstein parts they have available for our cars. I know the B8's are just the shortened dampners but I had to go twice because the first time they said that the correct dampners had arrived but they'd sent the wrong springs so I had to go back again once the right ones had been sent? Which was why I also thought I had the full B12 kit installed.

I believe the B12 kit is B8 shocks with Eibach springs.

I actually sent the garage the link to the thread with your photos and stuff and he said he copied or so wasn't sure why it was so loud. Going to have another box put in though to make it quieter. It sounds nice at times but other times it just annoys the hell out of me so need to get it sorted. Still couldn't fault the service of the garage though.

If I mind I will get a sound clip of it on tick over this evening.

PM'ed Sound File ;)

PM'ed Sound File ;)

Thanks, I'll check it out when I'm on the computer tonight as it doesn't seem to work on my phone.

A kid has offered me a blistein kit which has front and rear shockers with 40mm h and r springs from a Audi a1 but need to check product code that they fit
