Getting hold of XP or Win98

For what it's worth... I found we could run dos stuff in linux for less cpu than a modern windows os, forget which one the last dos bit was in.

Anyhow you might find... run a linux vm; might as well go ubuntu for most online documentation, then install wine, it might work! It will be an experience to find out anyway.

I use wine to run firefox, because 4OD and other services don't support chrome or firefox under linux, so I run wine for firefox, ta-dah thank you.

I had a brief look into doing it in WINE, couldn't find much info of any having success.

Buy yeah might be worth doing a 'nix VM for experience. I've not played with it for a while.

Thinking about building a new PC soon and I'll probably dual boot that.

Take it back, didnae work

Bit of a reminder for folks using W98- REMEMBER to use the "safely remove" tool on ESPECIALLY USB drives before removing. Most times W98 is OK, then she gets like a woman scorned and you've got fried USB drive ( like that with fries Sir ?).

Actually found my old copy of 98SE.

It's like internet archeology to get bits to make it work. The newest VirtuaBox VGA driver I could find was form 2008.

Then I check the box and it says Pirates doesn't work on Win98. Seems to be installing though.
