VRS DSG Octavia, how do find yours?

Featured Replies

I have the new age Skoda Superb which I really like and have put up about 50k on it since November! However it was a manual so decided to put an order in for a DSG VRS Octavia in diesel of course. Ordered it about 2 months ago and still waiting as I put a lot of extras on it so was a special order.

So how do people find the VRS's? It looks like the interior quality will be a step down from the Superb but at least I will have some additional power to compensate that! :D

I can't comment on the diesel version, but I love my Petrol DSG. :sun:  I had a Mk2 facelift vRS before the Mk3 - it is a major improvement and good value for money.

I have the vrs 4x4 DSG, this is the second dsg car I have own. I will not go back to a manual box. I looked at the superb estate before ordering my vrs, and personal I don't think the interior is that much lower quality than the superb. Sure there are some harder plastics dotted about but most of switch gear is the same.

Had a brand new VRS DSG as a courtesy car while my manual VRS was in for a boost sensor. And sorry to say it bored me to bits. It's fun for a few days then just gets boring. But then each to their own.

Also have a 4x4 DSG vRS. Happy with it? Yes. Would I pay extra for DSG if manual was available with 4x4? No :)

Love my dsg, wife has dsg in her spaceback also, and neither of us would go back to manual, looking forward to hopefully getting a 4x4 DSG next.

I love my Octavia VRS petrol, the DSG makes it just such a composed drive.

Had my VRS DSG for just over a year now & I've been driving manuals since 1997, 1st DSG car I have owned & was not sure about it until I had a go in a DSG & my mind was pretty made up there & then :) I actually hate having to use a manual car from time to time.

DSG in Petrol  forget DSG in Diesel, you would be better of with the manual in Diesel but just my personal opinion, it's really up to you...

You can read on here about DSG & that its best suited in petrol form, but think most of the problems is people thrashing the DSG in Diesel so if you are the type of person to thrash most of the time, then I would think but think again...

Get some proper power & go for the petrol, you will love it...

I even find it boring in the A1 185 BHP I use. If only they made the paddles longer so you could shift up/down by hand once the steering is turned.
