Best pooch parts...

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Very excited to get my 2013 O3 vRS Estate in a few days, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice regarding dog related parts.

First off I'm looking at a rear bumper guard and my mind was set on the RearGaurds option due to their greater surface coverage than OEM, however I now read this is no longer the case and I'm wondering if OEM is the way to go?

Also, is the OEM interior dog guard the best option and fit? Need something to keep my dogs snout off my nice vRS seats.

Thanks in advance folks,

LD

Maybe this is of interest for you. It´s a net that installs without any drilling etc.

There should be some contact information so maybe they can inform you about any retailers in the UK. It appears to be a product that is developed together with Skoda Sweden.

Skoda now sell the traveall one, which doesn't require drilling, as an oem part

I use the above guard, with the oem bumper strip, a rubber floor mat, some vet bed mat and a towel to cover the rear for entrance and exit.

It's about as good as you'll get while looking original/not making holes.

Thanks guys,

Are there any good looking bumper protectors that will cover right up to the edge?

I've got two very boisterous Dalmatians which need to go in my boot (vRS 230 estate).  After doing quite a bit of research I decided to go with a Travall dog guard, as they're a very good custom fit for each model.  You even have to get the right version for whether or not you have the panoramic sunroof.

Here's what I went for: https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/octavia-estate-2013--/travall-dog-guard-tdg1471

It's not the cheapest option, but it is very well made compared to a guard I have in another car, and it was a doddle to fit.

For boot and rear bumper protection, on the advice of another thread on these forums, I decided to invest in a Hatchbag boot protector.  In this case you need to make sure whether you have the raised floor option or not - I do.  Try this link to see what I'm talking about: http://www.hatchbag.co.uk/skoda-octavia-estate-raised-floor-2013-on.  Don't worry about it saying "not suitable for Canton subwoofer" in the small print of the instructions.  I've got the subwoofer and it still fits ok.

I also went for the split seat option and added the bumper flap which flips out over the rear bumper when the dogs are getting in and out.  So far it's worked a treat and I also ordered the hatchbed mat too.  You get a pair of these, so the one can be in the car whilst the other is in the wash.  Dogs seem to love it - no need for a separate bed in the boot for them, and the furry carpet effect helps stop some plastic crates I have in there from sliding around too.

Hope this helps!
