Please help me

Featured Replies

So I am the first owner of a Skoda Felicia Facelift 2 1.3mpi from 1998 and I need some advices on some problems.

1.First I have problems with locking my car from the drivers dor, I can unlock all the dors with the key but i can't close them....if i turn the key it doesn't do anything.

2.My Skoda seems to have a bad start when it's hot....sometimes starting and then quickly dying....other thime if i accelerate it starts somehow but i exhausts withe smoke.

Can someone help me please?

1) Read this topic (only about mechanical integrity of door locks) and you'll see why that happens.

2) One probable cause is a faulty coolant temperature sensor. Maybe also cleaning the throttle body and resetting it. There are other possible causes too and other members will probably mention them. Bottom line is this: a wise thing would be to check for ECU errors first with a VAG-COM scanner. Find evidence of fault then buy parts. Unless you can afford to buy parts blindly hoping to solve the problem.

PS

Knowing you are the first owner doesn't help in diagnosing the problems. The mileage, prior engine related repairs and parts replaced, maintenance... these are useful information...

Lock is a common problem simple little fix done loads or just swap lock from passanger door... as for the hot starting fault I would put money's on it being the temp sensor as it's not telling the ecu the temperature causing it to over fuel (white smoke) is fuel economy high....

It is good to see you back me up advising exactly what I've already said...

With one exception though. I would never advise "fixing" a door lock by moving it to the other side of the car :dull:

Well your use the drivers door more....
