Need some soldering doing

Featured Replies

Can someone please do some soldering for me.

I can post.

It's a W8 interior light,i'd like the ambient red leds replaced with blues please.

Also if possible hard wire so no need for a loom.

Name your price...

Thanks

Pictures of the bits and something to show sizes please.

I'm not sure blue LED would be safe to be honest if it's going in the front. Dull green or red won't affect your night vision like blue will.

Any TV repair shop or even local college could help you. Will take minutes to do.

As said it's a very simple job.

If i were to do it i'd say postage only, but i think you're better off going to a local tv repair place.

Also as expressed i have concerns about the blue LED and night vision if too bright.

Also you'd need to find and supply the correct LED.

Now if only you could fit the colour cycle LED in there instead.

I like that idea but fear it could attract the wrong attention.

I always carry electrical tape in glove box anyway's.

I have seen it done before.

How would i find correct LED.

It's not the normal type lol,it's the smaller one like in the octavia alarm door pin.

I wouldn't let you do it for free.

Local TV repair lol my nearest high street is a 60 mile around trip.

How would i find correct LED.

Start point 1 - operating current/ forward voltage drop on (original/ replacement )LED. A good start point would be to find out the drop across the LED, then the drop across the dropper resister and hence the current through the LED. Just a start, but there's a lot more involved than just finding a blue LED and changing it. Of course , you could be lucky and new LED is a like for like replacement, but if that was the case, R &D labs would not exist.
