Radio signal booster

Featured Replies

Picked up an eonon 5153 today fitted it our fabia, however the radio is poor it picks hardly any stations up, even the stock dance one wasn't that great either so is it possible to boost the signal even more? it already has the small booster or is it the headunit is just not that great for radio, everything is works fine!

The radio on this unit is absolute cr*p - it suffers from poor sensitivity & selectivity & no amount of signal amplification will make much difference. The AF section of the RDS system also doesn't work (that's where it automatically retunes the radio to an Alternative Frequency when the signal becomes weak & you move out of one area into another).

I tried signal boosters on mine & gave up in the end & just accepted it was a p*ss poor design. Pity really as everything else worked OK.

The best you can hope for is to buy a DAB converter & plug it into the AUX input, but I don't really reckon it's worth throwing £120 or so at it.
