Wishbone and tie rod

Featured Replies

What would people say is better lemforder or fai for these parts. Lemforder works out £20 more expensive. Also could people link me to a tool for the tie rods

Thanks

Why do you need a new wishbone? The balljoint unbolts and is an easy replacement, the main wishbone bush is mounted in the console, not the wishbone and the front bush is cheap and easy to do as well.

Also do you mean the track rod, since there is no tie rod on a Fabia?

The three bolt holding the ball joint to the hub snapped a couple of weeks ago and I don't know if it damaged wishbone at the time so was going to change it just incase as I'm havin issues gettin my tracking right. Yeah I'm changing track rod an track rod end so wanting to try and find the right tool

You need a small ball joint splitter to remove the TRE from the hub carrier, the rest just uses spanners.

How did you snap all three bolts retaining the ball joint, did you crash it?

Snapped ball joint bolts won't damage the wishbone. They frequently snap while trying to undo them when they've been on there ages.

Part number for the plate with the three captive nuts is 6N0407175A

Bolts N10127707

NB: Some pattern ball joints already come with nuts and bolts.

Oh dear, that's different then.

That sounds like crash damage to me, you must have hit the kerb when doing e-stop to break those bolts and tuck the wheel like that, you should get the that front corner looked at professionally in case there is damage you haven't spotted.

It doesn't matter which wishbone you get, just buy the cheapest one.
