Lighting fault warning

Featured Replies

This is showing up on my dash but none of my bulbs are out.

Any ideas what this might be? It's booked into the dealers tomorrow where I guess it'll be hooked up for diagnostics and hopefully sorted under warranty.

Thanks in advance

What exactly is it saying? Usually if it thinks there's a bulb out it will inform you which one.

No specific info, just says lighting fault

Is there any more information in the infotainment "vehicle info" menu ?

Usually the warnings from the maxi-dot are also shown here with a graphic of the problem (like low-fuel, tyre pressure monitor etc)

Did you check your number plate lights?

On a previous car I found the number plate light fittings were very weak causing them to stretch and cause intermittent faults.

Door warning lamp can trigger 'check general lighting' (or similar) message in my experience.

I found on another car capable of notifying when a bulb is out that it can detect one on its way out.  I had notification to replace the front passenger side headlight, and when i checked it, it was working fine, so i ignored it.  Damn bulb went about a week later.  I don't know how but they seem to be able to detect when they are starting to fail.  Like others said though, it should tell you somewhere which one.
