Yet more boost issues

Featured Replies

Had a 0299 error and limp mode.

I have changed the vacuum solenoid and discovered the turbo actuator was faulty. That has now been changed too.

The car was much better but a bit juddery and restricted acceleration up to around 2500 rpm then it suddenly switches to max boost. It's not nice and controlled like it used to be.

Had it in at the tuning place today to get the actuator setup.

Unfortunately it still drives the same and it is now showing new error codes.

00069 Boost Pressure Control Valve/Solenoid (Bank 1) Open Circuit

P0045 Intermittent

I still have the old vacuum solenoid valve so will change it back to see if there is any difference. It seemingly may also be a bad earth or broken wire.

Any other suggestions?

It could also be the boost pressure sensor.

Where the hell is that (CR 170 CEGA) ????

Put the old vac solenoid back in. Still the same.

Found the boost sensor. Took the pipe above it off and cleaned it in situ. Let it dry out for a while but still a wee bit rough starting up. OK now.

Took it a run and still the same.

Will maybe get a new boost sensor. Does anyone know the correct part number?

Any other ideas?

Was the pre load on the actuator correctly set?

I thought so but when it wasn't smooth acceleration I took it to the tuning place to get the actuator setup.

I assume it is done but have no way of making sure.

Now it has the 2 new error codes I am trying to trace these.

The symptoms are restricted and juddery acceleration like it is holding back up to around 2500rpm then it it suddenly gives full boost and accelerates normally.

Had a look for a boost pressure sensor but there are 2.5 bar, 3 bar 4 bar sensors.

What is the correct one?

Does anyone know the correct part number?
