Just cleaned the inside of car yesterday and on the door card where the window goes down,probably where we put our arm on to rest,a crack has appeared? A splitting of the foam/trim the car is 5 years old vw golf , is there anything i can do ?

That's terrible. More perceived Volkswagen quality. Or rather lack of!

Yes probably down to high temps and cooler nights ?

From VAG POV it's not an arm rest so your fault.

 

I was sure it's a common issue but a quick google brought up nothing.

 

I guess it depends how fussy you are, with a bit of care some superglue might fix it well enough or go to a trim repair specialist.

Either a new door card, or personally if you're going to rest your arm on it, take it to a car trimmer and get them to do them all with leather/suede/cloth that works for you.

I dont rest my arm we use the arm test on the door is as im a short arse my harm doesnt reach that far i will see what vw dealers say? Or failing that superglue will probably do the job
