2012 Estate vRS CR- What costs/issues to expect after 5 years?

Morning,

I am about to service my 2012 Estate vRS TDI (60k miles), it will be its 3rd service.

I am trying to decide whether I should sell it before the next service around (75/80k), which would require the cambelt too or whether to keep it for the long run....

Except the cambelt every 5 years, is there anything else costly to be expected or do they tend to be reliable as long as serviced on time?

What realistic mileage can I expect out of it?

Thanks

C.

I have the same car as you, but with 110K on the clock.

The only exta things I had replaced up to now are

The front disk & pads @ 80K

Aircon compressor at 105K

& DSG oil every 40K.

I expect to keep mines for a few years yet, as it is still very reliable

and a cambelt / waterpump every 5 years isn't too bad - compare to some other makes

Mileage wise, as skodas are used as taxis, the sky could be the limit

I'm on 125k

Only part's i have changed is purely maintenance.

Front Shocks

Rear bumpstops

Rear caliper/common issue.

Rear caliper backplates/common issue

Brakes disc and pads.

Engine still going strong cr170 with stage 2.

Original clutch and dmf so i believe. Will be getting done next year as it served well.

I have seen ex-police with 160k+ good engine i believe...

Mine is a 2011 goes well has been superb mechanically - it's just approaching 60k now

Maintenance wise I just had the 60k service carried out to include fuel filter and a brake fluid change (changed the air and cabin filters myself with Bosch filters for £16 - took 5 minutes for each one). I had my cambelt and water pump done early (Dec 2015) to keep my mind at ease.

So it's had a couple of major services done, but now hoping to just add diesel and pay for minor Variable servicing until 100k!

Mine is a 2010 sitting at 117k at the moment. I do nearly 20k a year. Since the beginning of the year it has had

Exhaust gas pressure sensor £280 at indy

Variable service and dsg oil change at dealer £380

Rear wheel heat shields £150 at indy

Camshaft position sensor at dealer £550 took 8 days

Currently in the dealer for replacement turbo pressure actuator approx £450. Has been in for 9 days so far.

I got the cambelt and water pump done last year and was £280 at indy

Had been reliable until just under 6 years old.

Will probably keep it for at least another 6 months

thanks everybody for the feedback, it is very useful.

Looks like the majority are very happy and low maintenance.
