Little hope for Yeti replacement

Featured Replies

ernieb,

There is lots of confusing stuff online with the Euro 6 emissions Seat 2.0TDI 150ps & 190ps due to different ones now available & in production and those that have SCR (adblue)

Which forum are you on for the Ateca ?

  • I have been thinking about a Yeti as a long term replacement. It is one of the few cars I would consider that is towards the end of its current production. I believe the Yeti will be much like the Oct

  • Peugeot 3008? Don't judge Peugeot on previous vehicles, in a different league today ........PSA acknowledge it's their last chance to remain independent

I would have an uphill struggle to convince myself that the Ateca was the best replacement for my Yeti.  IME Seats are a bit like Vauxhalls: too many of them seem to be driven by people with a somewhat optimistic view of their own importance on the road.  Not all, just enough more than some other makes to make them noticeable.  Rather spoils the brand for me.

I think I'll be keeping a weather eye on the mark one Yeti run-out deals.  My Yeti is six yours old and although it's low mileage, I think the time is coming to move it on before its second-hand or trade-in value drops out of sight.  My real inclination would be to run it until it dies but I don't think that's as easy to do with modern cars as it used to be, in the days when you could fix anything with a decent socket set and a minimum of specialist tools.  Modern cars have too much stuff in them that can't practically be repaired, and which can cost painful amounts to replace.  It's not built-in obsolescence so much as a failure to design for economic repairability.

I am in exactly the same position with our 6 year old Yeti and only 43k on the clock. No problems with it at all. Will wait for a run-out deal or buy the replacement if suitable or keep present car.

The endless real world reduction in new car prices have resulted in ever increasing new car sales .....resulting in an ever expanding used car fleet waiting for a buyer who is constantly being enticed by new car special deals.

Around my area used cars are everywhere parked on nature strips with their for sale signs......even a delivery ks Mustang FGS!

Is motoring actually any cheaper today?.

Apparently the Seat Ateca baby brother is going to be called Arona per Head of Seat at Paris Motor show, due in 2017

It is a sort of crossover version of Ibiza

If Ibiza and Fabia are related, could there be a Skoda badged version ?

The 'platforms' define the relationships across all badges AFAIK.

It's seems more like badge engineering within VAG than anything mechanical being seriously unique.

Well the Karoq is what Skoda have coming as a replacement for the Yeti, but they have said a smaller vehicle is coming and that seems to be a sort of sister car to a Arona / T-roc.

Just not until 2019.

Fed up with car manufacturers of all marques telling us what's good for us.

WE WANT YETIS.

BOG OFF with all your jellymould cars!

Yes just looking at first reviews of VW new Troc.

Based on the Golf, like the Yeti. Same size as Yeti.

Yeti mark 2 pending?

To be a car sized between the Polio/Fabia based forthcoming SUV and the announced Atteca/Karoq

I know the Yeti has been around for a few years now so in total there is more on the roads than ever before but I've seen a lot more around locally than previously.

Even compared with two years ago when I bought mine.

I could go out and not see one but now see a number even on short journeys and many folks I've spoken to or have ridden in it say how nice it is. As has been said it is sad that it's been pensioned off. Bit like a lot of the owners! I'm almost there and my wife already is.

Seeing as Skoda UK had the best year for Yeti First Registrations in 2016 with nearly 14,000 and if they had that or more this year then they must be someplace out and about unless sitting on forecourts.

Not a big seller though in the UK no mater how the figures are put really.
