Hello guys. First post here at Briskoda. Been here to get a few answers before but i can't find an answer to this question.

My seats is in really bad shape and i've been offered golf mk5 seats for a nice price. So my question is, will they fit bolt on or do i have to do something?

No they won't fit.

No not impossible, well trodden here thanks to threads like pastyboy (search threads pleaes) but only if you have some kind of donor seats, using the original ones or a spare set as you need original seat bases to mount the others on.

If you are into relatively minor modification / DIY, with a set of donors, it is possible ( results may vary depending on your expectations/abilities).

 

I got some nice Fabia seats for £40, still keep the covers actually useful in case my wifes mkII seats rip.

 

I did Recaro colour concept and very happy with mine, they are kinda better than even my stock part leather o3 seats

( a tiny part used on the O3 standard seats is fabric which is bargain basement and my pet hate with the car at the moment, must alter although probably out of warranty though). So well worth a bit of effort if you can.

Is there any other seats that fit bolt in? Like Polo seats for example. Because i don't believe in modifying things like seat mounts and such things that in the end could have a huge impact on safety.

Other Mk1 Fabia Seats, some in the for sale section currently.

Polo 9N and I believe Audi A1 (but double check first!).

Fronts can be "easy". If from a similar vehicle.

 

ISTR Rears, erm, not so much. The mountings are different sizes, types, shapes and places.

 

 

PS: Mine has stock seats.

I always like to see them fitted, i think a lot of the ones people fit look awful and out of place in a Fabia.

Yes okay. But if you actually understand and investigate whats involved you will realise you aren't compromising by modifying anything that would have any impact on safety, whatsoever.

 

You are using the standard seat mounts and frames, etc from standard seats.

You are just basically dressing them with the foam etc from the other seats.

The seats, just bolt on.

 

Many of us have already been there, done that, and are quite clear, it has no impact on safety, at all ( unless you had seat airbags before, and remove them in the process!)

The only benefit of going straight to other cars with exactly similar seats, is the price of convenient, and the reduction of choice.
