Front grille chrome part

Featured Replies

I wish to plasti dip the chrome front grille on my occy 2011 is it possible to separate the chrome from the black part ? Thank you in advance

it comes apart pretty easy and I'm sure there are guides on here, from memory you'll need a 6mm socket, flat blade and a t30 torx

The whole grille comes off easy but getting the chrome off of the black plastic slatted but is hard. When I sprayed mine (paint not dip) I taped up the black piece because it wasn't worth the effort

Thank you all ????

I PlastiDipped mine, taking the chrome piece of the car was easy, but separating the chrome from the plastic was a bit more time consuming because there are few more little black clips that join the 2 pieces.

I think I'll just mask up the grille and paint over it.

This is how mine looks

That look awesome I hope mine looks That good once I dip mine.

Its good stuff PlastiDip. I kept spraying coats till the can ran out

I got mine from SuperSkoda and was already painted in Black Magic (same colour as my alloy wheels).  Saved all the hassle and you can keep the Chrome one intact as a spare.  Remember to order a badge, or the have another one, with the new MK3 badge already on.  I opted to remove mine and put onto the black one, but wished I had just got a badge at the same time, as it was difficult enough to remove!!
