Starting up problems

Featured Replies

Skoda Fabia 1.2 Estate 2003

For the past five months or so my skoda has had intermittent start up problems. Some days it will start up fine and some days it can take about 6 attempts. Only a few days thankfully it hasn't started at all.

The battery is fine and once it starts it runs absolutely fine.

My garage assumed fuel system problems as can't always hear the fuel pump priming before start up. So it was a process of elimination. Two weeks ago I had the fuel filter changed ... still problems. This last week I had the fuel relay changed ... still problems. Then finally the fuel pump was changed ... and still problems!

Any advice where to go next please? Thanks.

after the car is exposed to the sun for a long time?

When were the spark plugs last looked at or changed?

Does the temperature gauge sit at 90 within a few minutes of starting?

dm222 - quite possibly but I haven't actually been looking out for this. What would this mean?
