Has anybody fitted an eBay arm rest? Or is there a specific one available?

There is/was an oem skoda one for the mk1 however they are hard to get hold of, you can get the part no. from etka.cc

DAO 409 001 for the OE arm rest.

Do well to get an OE arm rest. They're like hens teeth.

Mk4 arm rest is fitable, there is a guide if you do a search Howard, you'll need to buy an adaptor kit from a guy on the for sale section, fairly easy fitting. I could help you for an hour or so one evening as I fit an arm rest into mine recently.

I make the adaptor brackets for fitting the mk4 golf armrest. Have made a good few with no complaints so far! It makes the armrest very solid as it mounts to the floor of the car using the hand brake mounting bolts.

You can also get ones on eBay that sit into the rear cup holder but I guess they wouldn't be very secure as it's only 2 screws holding the center console in at the back.

I've just fitted a mk4 Golf arm rest with Sean's bracket. Definitely get one from him, it's transformed my car. Other than cutting the cup holder out its a dead easy job.
