WI FI hotspot

Featured Replies

Hi all

I collected my 6 month old Octavia VRS combi this morning and have been playing with all the new toys. I have been trying to connect a iPad to test the wifi hotspot, which I'm led to believe my car has, when connected to my phone. Can I find it? Er..no. I must be missing something. I can find it in the Amundsen infotainment system menus, and the handbook is vague at best. Nothing shows up on a wifi search other than my pre existing personal hotspot. Does anybody have any idea how to activate this?

Cheers

Does the Amundsen have WiFI capability? I know the Columbus (in the Superb) but that it's an option.

Personally I don't get the functionality - if you are creating a WiFi hotspot for the car, to then connect an iPad to, why not just connect the iPad to the phone?

According to the Latest Octavia Brouchure the Vrs has a HiFi Hot spot. ( Admunsun Sat/nav Radio )

My 230, hopefully collecting next week should have it but the OP's Vrs is 6 months old, maybe it wasn't available then but is now

Perhaps thats it. not to worry, and yes I could just connect to the phone. I was curious more than anything.

Mine is 3 weeks old, and I've got it :-)....( I didn't order it as an option)

I've got it. But I can't see what the point of it is? Maybe I'm missing something.

Fairly sure I read somewhere that you have to insert a sim card somewhere in the glove box.
