Reputable Alloy Wheel Refurb Sussex (Octavia VRS 2.0 TDI PD 2007)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but it's already helped me with my decision to purchase my first Octavia Vrs only two days ago. I used this forum a lot over the last few months as I was researching, budgeting and looking etc and finally got one. It has 115000 on the clock and a few things need sorting but to that end it was a steal of a deal with FSH and it's already the most fun car I have owned to date. My question is does anyone know any reputable places to get a few scuffs sorted on the alloys in or around the Sussex area? While your there, does anyone get their turbo cleaned by a specialist regularly and where in the same  sort of area would be good to go for that kind of thing? Infact, a list of reputable garages that you Octavia owners rate would be most helpful for general maintenance, performance upgrades, body work etc....

Thanks - Nick

Can't help with a recommendation but go silver, as bright as you can...

At 115,000 miles do not touch the turbo, at this age cleaning it is only going to expose any weaknesses on an already well worn turbo and finish it off sooner.

The best thing to do is change the engine oil regularly (every 10,000 miles / 12 months) using high quality oil (VW 507.00) as the turbo is lubricated by the engine oil, this will help the DPF too. Some say premium fuel helps too but I'm not convinced, it's oil about the oil for me.

Looks great. Thanks for the advice. What were the options originally for the alloy colours on the Vrs? Anyone know? Mine are like a smokey grey/black I wonder if they are the original colour?

Depends where you are in Sussex.

I use Camspec in Crawley for servicing and Wheel Works are in the same road.

Had my fabia wheels repaired and re-coloured by WW and they were great.

Not quite in Sussex, but Lepsons in Gillingham are the best around (and where other refurbishers take wheels they cannot do themselves!)

Had mine done at Eastbourne, they also lent me a new car for the day with no charge.Think four wheels about £200, done good job
