Clunking noise when braking and pulling off

Featured Replies

I've started to notice a clunking noise when braking hard and pulling off in my vrs. I first noticed it on track a few weeks ago, you could pretty much feel the clunk near your feet.

Someone has mentioned that it could be the console bushes but I'm running powerflex ones, granted they are a few years old now but surely it can't be them? Anyway to test and find out whats causing the issue?

What about an engine/gearbox mount slightly loose? Could lead to a 'clunk' as you set off and stop.

Other than a little bit more movement on the gearbox side than I'd like things seem okay to me.

If it's by your feet it could be the FARB bushes gone west?

I'd say it's either dogbone mount, console bushes or as lofty said FARB bushes, there the top 3 reasons for clunking normally.

I'm gonna change the drop links and the anti roll bar bushes and if those don't solve the issue then the console bushes will be replaced for new items. Unsure as to stick with Powerflex or not now....
