It's so close....

Featured Replies

I went to the shipping company's warehouse last night to visit my car!

It hasn't had the official customs inspection yet so it can't be moved. Looks good though - no shipping damage that i can spot.

I am concerned about it sitting in a warehouse surrounded by crates for a few days (when I was there the roller door was open and keys on front seat!!)

I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas - more excited about getting the car back than when I first bought it. Maybe that's because I already know how good it is!

It's booked for its reg and WOF (MOT) on Tuesday/Wednesday (Monday is a public holiday in Wellington)

Can't wait!

Excellent news.

Everything else going well I take it?

It's going very well, thanks.

Job's okay - not much on till everyone recovers from the Christmas hols (summer break!!) but it's starting to pick up.

My wife's full-time job hunting before she goes mad from being home alone (with the cats :))

Even though we said we weren't looking we've found a house we want to buy - waiting on bank approval now - fingers crossed!

So we're settling in nicely.

My Skoda's quite exclusive here - only seen four, two of them vRSs and all estates.

Cool.

I'd love to make a similar move , and the newish SWSBO thinks the same so maybe in a couple of years I'll give it a go.

Do it now! It's an adventure!

To quote someone more eloquent than me:

"20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do... Explore. Dream. Discover" Mark Twain

Plus we need more poms over here to teach them to speak English proper.

It seems remarkable to me that a car is quarantined for longer than the cats are :ne_nau:

:holmes: You don't think there's an element of jealousy involved do you? :D

Glad all well :)

Yaaaaay - car has finally been inspected and passed. Still got to wait till tomorrow for it to be delivered to the vehicle testing station but maybe it'll be ready tomorrow.

Must be patient.

It'll be worth the wait ....like driving it for the first time again.

Ohh yes! :) Especially after driving a 200,000km 15 year old Mitsubishi for two months!

Maybe today... All customs stuff is cleared and fees paid...

Must be patient.

Well it's been delivered to the reg place and it's about no 5 in the queue - should be done by tomorrow hopefully. Just been and changed the wiper blades, removed the plates and paid the bill - $300

The bad news is it's gained some scratches since last week - double scratch on the bonnet, one on the front bumper (probably from loading onto the delivery truck) and someone's run a trolley or something into the back - 2 dents in the plastic through the paint. Also when it was steam cleaned they've lifted some paint!! (the car was keyed and I had it fixed by a local bodyshop - looks like they didn't do a proper job

:o)

Should be covered by shipping insurance as long as I can get the shipping company to sign off that it's in worse condition than the document I have. Waiting for a call back from them now.
