Creaky dash

Featured Replies

My dash creaks when driving, not necessarily when hitting bumps, just constant.

I'm sure it's from the passenger side, if I push the dash down, or put pressure upwards on the glovebox, it almost goes. I've taken away the A pillar trim and that's not helped.

Any hints or tips to get rid of it? I have to play the music loud because of the annoyance.

TIA

My CR vRS does it too, the only way I've found to stop it is to bang the left side of the glovebox area, deffo not a permanent fix though

Tighten the screws holding the glove box in. Works for me although returns after a while

A scoosh of car interior cleaner/polish at joins will usually stop noises between moving plastic parts.

Mine did this and it drove me insane.

I finally fixed it after finding a tip on here. Remove the end cover to the dash on the passenger side (visible with the door open).

Slacken off the torx bolts holding the end of the dash, and push the dash firmly towards the front of the car. Whilst maintaining this pressure, nip the bolts back up and replace the end cap.

I did this and my dash was silent afterwards. Bliss!

Cheers peeps. I took the end of the dash off and poked and prodded. Ended up wedging a bit of card between the plastic frame and dash. Seems to have worked so far.

80miles is and it's like a different car almost. Feels like I'm missing something out of my driving experience. I may be more calm whilst driving now....

Thanks for ge help!
