The most annoying sound in the world - VIDEO

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have owned a Skoda Octavia vRS for around 16 months now and it has never let me down and is great to drive.

Around 4 months ago a noise popped up out of nowhere as I was at the traffic lights, I immediately checked the engine bay but the sound was not there, it was inside the car somewhere.

I thought it could be down to the air con as I learnt that when I switched the aircon button on the noise went away.. I booked my car in with Midland VW who told me it wasn't the air con and they wasn't sure what the sound was an they also said I should leave the noise to get worse before bringing it back.

I have been to other garages but they have said its nothing to do with the engine and it does not effect the car in any way shape or form, just very annoying.

Can someone please view the video and give me some advice? As I say the noise is very irritating but doesn't effect how the car runs etc.

Any sort of help would be appreciated.

My plastic fuel lines were vibrating from the area roughly under drivers seat I just adjusted them slightly I thought it was coming from the engine initially

How do I get to them?

Jack car up

Remove the plastic under body trim

Find the fuel lines

I then packed mine with sticky foam pads

Started engine felt to see if that had helped then stuffed some more down the little holes and it was all fine

So does this noise sound like the noise you was experiencing?

What causes it and why does it stop when the Aircon is turned on?

Yea sounds the same the noise would go away at siffer et revs and tones as the vibration is different:)

I was looking forward to a clip from Dumb and Dumber!
