I have recently bought a 16 plate Octavia and am loving it apart from one little niggle with the Amundsen.  

I have all my music stored on an 64GB SD card.  Every so often when I start the car, instead of playing the last album/track I was listening to before, the stereo starts playing the first album by the first artist.  This happens every few days and there seems to be no pattern do when it will or won't do it.  For instance, it has happened after the car has been left overnight but it has also happened when the car has only been stopped for 10 minutes.

I notice that I can't access the artist/album database for a minute or so when this happens, so it seems to be that that the stereo has lost it's database of what is on the card and needs to reindex everything.

 

Is this a common issue or is there something wrong with my particular head unit?

I've experienced this too, although not with an SD card - I have a Sony Walkman plugged into the USB port.

I've had it happen too - with a micro SD card plugged in to the USB using an adapter.

 

Happened a few times after I bought the car (second hand) but hasn't happened since.

It did it this morning. It also took about 30 secs for the HU to admit anything was plugged into the USB.
