advice on driver side central locking and ICE ?

Recommended Posts

Im not savvy with electrics and all I know is what I read so It'd be great to get some answers and advice on my questions!!

I was advised that unless your installing a major sound system upgrade, the re-wiring of new UPRATED speaker wires from a 4 channel amp directly to speakers is a massive pain. (obviously removing trim and fitting, soldering wires, refitting trim) etc..

My car is already wired up to the boot with preout cables, a power cable to battery, grounding wire and another cable I think that is a speakers cable in the boot.

I was advised to put a pioneer head unit with the mosfet amp and power the front 2 speakers through the head unit.

I want to know that if I install a multichannel amp in the boot ( wired with the existing uprated wiring mentioned above) then bridge 2 channels to power the subwoofer,

CAN I then use the other two channels to power the rear speakers?

CAN I then directly wire uprated wiring to the rear speakers FROM the amp in the boot?

is this done with the remaining available 2 channels from the amp?

Or is the rear of a head units preout strictly for a subwoofer and not able to be connected to a amp to power all 3?

In the picture below it says pre outs for sub and other pre outs.

does this mean I need to wire another RCA Left & Right cable to the boot into the amp to then wire the speakers directy into the 2 channels?

Heres a picture below of the rear of the head unit with preouts

I forgot to ask about the central locking issue. There is an octavia available at the moment with a driver side door and full electric mechanisms inside.

Can my passenger locks and/or whole electric mechanism fix the fact the car wont lock with the fob??

Thanks again

Rather than answering all that:

- What's currently installed?

- What are you trying to achieve?

- Are you looking for more volume, more bass, better sound quality?

- What parts, if any, have you already bought?

As for the central locking, it's probably worth starting a new separate thread in the MK1 Octavia section. Much more likely to get a useful answer there :)

At the moment I have a terrible sony cd single din head unit and the standard speakers.

Im trying to achieve the quality of my mas F10 BMW 5 series standard sound system, maybe a bit louder

but im happy with the sound quality.

the sub could seem like overkill for my needs but since its wired up already from the previous owner why not???

I'm getting the Pioneer mvh-x580bs which I'm waiting to come into stock in Ireland next week (it has 3 pre outs not 2 like at the top of the thread).

the mossfet amp 4x50watt 14watt rms

two front speakers are in phase sxt1335 5.25" 230watt 40 rms

which i plan on running from the power of the mossfet amp that is with the head unit.

two rear speakers are in phase sxt1735 6.5" 260watt 40 rms

still have to order the Amp and Sub.

can I wire the 2 rear speakers directly to 2 of the amps channels (to achieve better sound quality) then bridge the other two channels to power the sub?

will possibly be interested in some soundproofing also.

any advice or help would be much appreciated  :notme:  :notme:

I meant to say can I run an amp through a pre out from the head unit to power a 4 Channel amp in the boot.

Then bridge 2 channels to power the sub and use the remaining two for the speakers

can this be done from one preout on the head unit?
