Coming Home lights when Auto lights installed

Featured Replies

Excuse me for asking what appears to be a noob question but I can't see an exact question already asked.

Skoda Superb 2.0TDI 170

Auto Lights installed, coming home lights work fine when switched to auto

I keep my main headlights on the whole time but would still like the coming home feature.  Is there a way to enable this?

You can enable coming and leaving home lights in Maxidot

Yes, I know. I have them enabled.

However if you have your head lights on manual (not Auto) then they don't work.

I'm guessing that there is a setting to override that via VCDS but I don't know where it is

bump...

I think you only have two choices with coming home lights, auto (as you have now) or manual.

- Auto mode needs the switch to be in the 'auto' position and will use the the RLS (rain light sensor) to activate both coming home and leaving home lighting.

- Manual mode doesn't need the RLS, instead you need to flick the high beams once the engine is off to get coming home lighting. You will loose leaving home lighting and at least for me, it would get pretty annoying needing to flick the high beam to turn the on/

A better choice might be to try byte 11, bit 2 - permanent running lights via low beam. That might keep the headlight on whilst in the 'auto' position and also allow both CH and LH lighting to work.

I haven't tried this so as a warning, it might give you behaviour similar to North American Mode where the running lights are only on with the handbrake off...
