Furbie went in to have rear door leak fixed this morning, and courtesy car provided as requested.Just rang to see how work is going and have been told that they need to order some rivets for the membrane in the door. Now my query is this,i have been told " AS THE COURTESY CAR WAS ONLY BOOKED OUT TO YOU FOR THE DAY YOU WILL HAVE TO BRING IT BACK AND REBOOK YOUR CAR IN FOR THE WORK TO BE COMPLETED AS WE HAVENT GOT THE RIVETS IN STOCK".I think it is a bit much to mess me about rebooking the car in again with another courtesy car request which always takes longer as there are only 2, because they are out of rivets...

Do you think i am right to hold on to the courtesy car until the work is complete, or do you have any advice

Surely they're doing you a favour by letting you have your car back until the rivets are in stock? I for one wouldn't want to be driving round in a courtesy car any longer than I had to

I wouldn't hang on to the courtesy car without their permission as there may be insurance implications (depending on what the bit of paper you signed said).... :D

Chris

If you hang on to the car they could report it as stolen.

Try to make an appointment for the job to be fixed - I assume it's not that long a job. Get the first slot of the day and wait for them to do it if you can. It'll be far less hassle and if you're stood at the desk they'll get on with it.

if you're stood at the desk they'll get on with it.

Not if their Saltdean Skoda they wont.

I'd want to be back in my own car tbh - otherwise they'll be allowing customers to take yours home!

Unfortunately the warranty doesn't cover ball ache. :thumbdwn:

The courtesy car is covered on our fleet insurance as anyone at the firm need to beable to drive all cars, and its not bad only done 3000 miles and nice and clean.

P.S. Just had a phone call can keep car until sat and parts will be in tomorrow,so no probs and thanks for the advice as always
