Can an Octavia be both ambiance and elegance at same time?

Featured Replies

Hope I am not spamming threads but here goes:

Can an octy be both ambiance and elegance at once? Becaues on my car, on one side there's the ambiance badge (right above a blinker I think), but on the other side there's an elegance badge (again, right above what I think is one of the blinkers). So I am simply wondering what do I have on my hands here?

Also, unrelated but didn't want another thread cluttering up everything: how do you change the lock for the boot/trunk door? In mine a key won't fit so it doesn't work with the key (works when I unlock the car otherwise but can't unlock via the trunk hatch itself).

No.

I'm guessing your car has had a new wing fitted but from another model.

I wouldn't have thought so. Based on UK specs:-

Ambiante - Radio-cassette, front electric windows, plip remote locking, heater, separate aircon, steel wheels with 195/65R15s

Elegance - Adds CD stacker (in LH rear panel), rear electric windows, replaces heater and aircon with Climatronic climate control, alloys with 205/55R15s, electric tilt-slide sunroof.

On the boot key issue, the lock is probably seized from lack of use and road spray: Try spraying it with WD-40 to start, and if that doesn't work, with PlusGas. It should unlock when you use the key or plip to unlock the car anyway.

Thanks for the answer, my Octavia is most likely ambiance but it does have metallic paint and one set of wheels aren't steel.

I just wonder why it has both badges then. It just seems weird and unusual.

I'll take pictures tomorrow.
