MAC ogranizer software help

Featured Replies

This is a quote from my Dad...

"I want a really really simple data tool to manage addresses, mail

outs etc, really 'kin easy to use (techno duffer speaking)"

I shall be doing the inputting on this program he decides to buy - First port of call being something called "Personal Organizer 4.5 (mac)"

Anyone know if this would fit the bill. I fear there should be a simpler way of doing this - What is essentially being created is a simple database if addresses, perhaps using a keyword like the Company name to find entries. A link to send this data to an A4 labels sheet would be useful too.

I'd have thought the the Mac would come with an Address Book (the ones I've used have)...I'm guessing you could fill that in, then use an Office package or similar to do a mail merge with documents based on the address book entries.

Not sure if this would actually work, but it's worth trying as it would avoid having to spend any cash. :D

Appleworks can manage mailouts (I've used it for a friends business mailshots) & that comes free with most Mac's. Not sure if it can get info from Address book but it does have a Database function of it's own.

I suggest you take a look at using the Address Book software that comes with MacOSX.

For mailshots, then you really want the new iWork06 suite, as Pages 2.0 can do that kind of stuff.

Appleworks is more of a multipurpose suite, but it's well ancient now, and really beginning to show it's age.
