Pulling to one side slightly.. Is there anything I can do?

Featured Replies

It seems shortly after getting my wheels aligned something happens and it ends up pulling ever so slightly to the right again.

Is there anything I can do to fix this on my own or do I have to keep shelling out £30 a go?

I'm not massively technical but I can do the odd bit here and there (I'm not completely useless).

Take it back to where you got the work done. Ask them to do it again and take the receipt with you. They should oblige and re do it. Ask them to clamp off the steering wheel in the dead set 12 o'clock position if they don't already.

I could understand if it was or 2 or 3 days, but it seems to have happened after about 2 or 3 weeks.

It's definitely worth taking it back and getting it double checked, also get them to have a look at the track rod ends, track arms, lower arms, subframe mounts etc as well, sounds to me like something is a bit loose underneath. Do you have matching tyres on the front, and are they both at the same pressure? What's the tread depth like too? One more worn than the other can cause this due to the slight difference in the rolling radius.

Pressures were matched but it still pulled in one direction. Depth is (was) also the same.

Looks like there's a fair bit to be looked over!

Thank you for advice all.

Another update.. I've not managed to take it back to the garage.. but it's pulling straight as an arrow now. Got no idea why it's suddenly ok!

Are you travelling the same roads? Sometimes it can be as simple as the road surface camber etc that can cause it.
