Help Please, Number Plate Light VCDS Coding issues

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Hopefully somone can help...  I have replaced my number plates bulbs with leds and went to get the coding changed so the car will stop throwing a hissy fit every time the lights come on. However, after we did this:

> Controller 09 - Central Electronics

-> 16 - Security Access - enter 31347

-> 10 - Adaptations

Change the 2 channels listed below

(1)-Leuchte25KZL HA59-Lasttyp 25  -  set to: 43 - allgemeine LED

STG09_Bordnetz_Anpassung_1-Leuchte25kzl-

(6) Leuchte25KZL HA59 - Dimmwert AB 25  -  set to 127

STG09_Bordnetz_Anpassung_1-Leuchte25kzl-

we still got the errors on the dash and the vcds said this:

I had the same problem.

For some reason, the car is very picky about the license plate lights.

Don't worry, the warning message will disappear in a few hours.

If you don't want to wait, you can try the following:

1) CAR / SETUP / Factory Settings / Lights (in infotainment menu)

2) Use the 'Soft Reset' function in VCDS while coding

It's better to do the coding before you change the bulbs to LEDs, but again...the warning triangle will disappear sooner or later if the coding is correct. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

I meant to post back, the error did indeed clear when i got in the car the next day.  How very odd!  But glad it is all sorted.

Stanian, as I found out it makes no difference if you get error free ones as the car knows they are leds regardless.  To be fair it was very simple to code using the post above and remembering the error won't go away for 24 hours ish.
