My is a 14 plate, only bought it a month ago, and have just noticed both tailgate struts have rusted where the arm comes out !, it's expanded, and caused the plastic cap to split on both of them. Is this normal? Would this be covered under warranty?

I would be straight back to the dealer buddy, that isn't right to me.

Also, how long would you expect the hatch boot to open ? Mine seems so slow to open, and always end up pushing it fully open!

The boot only opens a little bit with the remote. You have to lift it up the rest of the way. There is a thread about using assister springs somewhere.
