Skoda Citigo - Cambelt Change

Featured Replies

Just for people's own reference, the Citigo's cambelt is due to be changed every 5 years or 160,000 miles.

The auxiliary belt has no recommended change date. Although have been told if your belt is squealing, to spray a bit of WD40 to see if this helps.

The aux belt on all VAG cars are just an "inspect and replace as necessary" job.

It's always recommended to replace along with the cambelt since it has to come off anyway and for the sake of a few ££s it's worth it.

What's your take on the Auxiliary belt? Worthwhile getting it changed if it is started to squeak?

There's a modified wing cover, dust shield and belt for the citiGo to prevent water contamination on the belt that causes squeaking.

That aside - it's a low cost task that can do no harm.
