Hi all, the bulbs that illuminate my heater controls below the radio in the centre consul are out and so is the one for the heated rear screen switch above the radio. How big a job is it to replace these bulbs? Can it be done by removing the radio (special tool required I think)? I would like to have these switches/knobs illuminated but don't fancy having to take half the car apart to do it. Any help appreciated.

They are not bulbs in the switches, they are LED's that need soldering and the heater panel is probably the same, I know they are in the climatic controller 

The car is 2002 reg, did they use LED's back in the day? Don't think I'm up to soldering.

I've just replaced the bulb on mine for the heater panel below the radio. Put a cloth over the middle knob and pull it off with pliers to access the bulb. It's a bit fiddly to get out but straight forward. Enough.

Looks easy enough, I'm wondering if that lights all three dials and not just the centre one. I'm going to have a go so I guess I'll find out.
